As key member of the ABB E-mobility Performance & Reward Leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the development of ABB E-mobility’s compensation strategy (global and local) and policies which will attract, retain and motivate employees, aligned to ABB E-mobility’s business, HR and Reward strategies. You will ensure appropriate and effective compensation governance throughout the organization with support from the P&R teams in different hubs. In addition, as Regional Lead, you will be responsible for delivering the Performance and Reward strategy and required benchmarking for Compensation & Benefits in the Americas Region, in alignment with Company directives and wider HR strategy. You will represent the needs of the region to the Global HR Team, where required, and collaborate with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and the wider HR team to provide a seamless service to the business. Our global organization includes approximately 2500 employees, Americas Region includes approximately 500 employees.

Your responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing the global and local Compensation strategy for ABB E-mobility aligned to ABB E-mobility’s business, HR and reward strategies and external market practice. Leading the design and implementation of the ABB E-mobility’s global and local compensation policies, including, but not limited to, job levelling, benchmarking, sales incentive, salary review and global short-term incentive arrangements
  • Overseeing the implementation of new and existing compensation arrangements in countries across ABB E-mobility, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative arrangements including equal pay
  • Executes and contributes to P&R strategy, in alignment with Company guidance, policies, and procedures. Acts as speaking partner to the business to advise on strategy, process and policy and best practice approach in relation to Performance and Reward
  • Implements and continuously optimizes P&R processes and procedures in alignment with ABB E-mobility’s policy and procedures
  • Partners with HRBPs and business leaders to understand current issues that can be supported or resolved through existing, new, and/or improved P&R practices, processes, or policies in Americas Region. Counsels HR and business leadership on effective solutions to resolve issues and support long-term objectives. Shares best practices with other team members for their use as appropriate
  • Works with the wider ABB E-mobility HR team to optimize support for the relevant processes and monitors service delivery in accordance with the pre-defined Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Manages vendor relationships at Regional/ Country level, instructing service providers and monitoring quality and cost of delivery as required
  • Ensures compliance with legislation and HR/ Compensation & Benefits policies and compliance standards. Manages local exception requests to policy, within defined parameters, and escalates as necessary
  • Provide M&A support for ABB E-mobility in alignment with ABB E-mobility guidance, policy, and procedures
  • Manages adherence to agreed finance plans and budgets
  • Target salary range: $145,000- $180,000 plus annual bonus (DoE)

Your background

  • Bachelor or Master degree (masters preferred, not required), with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in HR / Compensation
  • Expert in global compensation, regional compensation and benefits programs, their administration and the broader HR strategy, anticipating customer needs and identifying solutions
  • Experience working in a global organization required, demonstrated cultural sensitivity, and experience dealing with multiple countries
  • Pragmatism, decisiveness and willingness to develop solutions, and proven economic skills
  • You are proven in dealing with HR colleagues and effectively communicating, collaborating and interfacing with senior management
  • Working style characterized by a clear service orientation and a high degree of independence, to drive tasks and projects forward quickly and on your own responsibility
  • Your high commitment, resilience and flexibility will help you to develop solutions even for challenging topics and time bottlenecks
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and HRIS (e.g. SuccessFactors)
  • Fluent English
