We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Compensation Analyst to join our Compensation team in Torrey Pines, CA.  This position is working on a Hybrid/Flex 9X80 Work schedule.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: 

  • Conduct market research and analysis to formulate recommendations for compensation program design and administration.
  • Prepare compensation analyses to support offers, promotions or market pay adjustments.
  • Lead one or more compensation program such as the annual merit cycle, short-term incentive plan administration or rewards & recognition program.
  • Provide advice and counsel to the HR Business Partner and Talent Acquisition teams on compensation matters.
  • Assess jobs and examine duties and responsibilities to determine the appropriate exemption classification.
  • Support various salary survey participation and be involved in survey results collection and analysis and formulate recommendations for appropriate changes to the compensation structure.
  • Prepare training materials on various compensation topics to be delivered to the HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition teams and business leaders.
  • Prepare and maintain job descriptions for various jobs ensuring descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws governing compensation practices.
  • Participate in various projects within the HR organization.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive compensation professional experience in a corporate Human Resources department. May substitute a certificate in human resources from a recognized organization and equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Technical expertise in the application of human resources principles, theories, concepts, and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge in various compensation tools utilized to conduct market research with the ability to interpret results and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex matters.
  • High proficiency in Excel with advanced knowledge of various formulas, pivot tables and other functions that are essential for conducting data analytics.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet established objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including senior management.
  • Ability to work in a team environment collaborating and supporting the compensation team, the HR organization, business leaders and employees.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to work extended hours when business needs arise.
