The Compensation Analyst will work with the compensation team, business partners and internal clients on identifying and solving complex compensation issues. You will become the compensation expert at Ginkgo over time.

Some of the work you will be responsible for (of course there is more, there is always more…):

  • Help create and manage salary structures
  • Identify areas of improvement in all business processes involving compensation, and come up with a plan to implement changes
  • Help the business understand how compensation works
  • Understand compensation internal equity, on a micro and macro levels
  • Participate in compensation surveys
  • Review and approve compensation changes in Workday.
  • Implement new tools to help the business manage compensation, such as survey management tools, Mercer IPE, inhouse tools using Excel/Visual Basic/Google Scripts
  • Educate the employee population on all things compensation
  • Participate in company-wide projects as the compensation representative
  • Become the go to person for all compensation matters
  • Exposure to executive compensation and compensation committee analytical work
  • Exposure to incentive design
  • Be the point of contact for all compensation vendors

What are we expecting you to bring to Ginkgo:

  • Two years of experience as a compensation consultant for a major compensation consulting firm (Mercer/TW/Aon, etc)
  • Strong technical aptitude and experience with compensation analysis
  • Superb critical thinking skills. Can understand short and long-term implications of your decisions
  • You are capable of maintaining strict confidentiality and exercising discretion with sensitive data
  • You are not intimidated by lack of structure and can prioritize your work
  • You enjoy both the analytical part of the job and the people side of the job, making you a strong communicator, while being a sharp analytical mind

Total compensation for this role is market driven, with a starting salary of $72K+, as well as company stock awards.  Base pay is ultimately determined based on a candidate’s skills, expertise, and experience.  We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental & vision coverage, health spending accounts, voluntary benefits, leave of absence policies, Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) program with employer contribution, 8 paid holidays in addition to a full-week winter shutdown and unlimited Paid Time Off policy.
